"Mommy I Can't Wait to Get Married!"

I was out shopping with the girls in Fred Meyer and as we passed the jewlery department Ashley said, "Mommy I can't wait to get married!" I asked her why she was so excited to get married and she said, "Because I want to wear one of those rings!" The girl already has her eye on the kind of diamond ring she wants. I explained to her that when she gets married she won't live at home anymore, but will move into a different home with her husband. Ashley made a dissapointed face and didn't look too excited by the thought. I told her that I would be sad if she left already because I would miss her too much. She decided she'll stay for a little while longer.

The next day Ashley was asking Derek to tell her all about the hospital and what happened during his day. Derek told her about the things he did and then told her that some of the people in the hospital aren't very nice to him and sometimes even say mean things to him. A minute later dinner was ready and Derek said the prayer. After the prayer was over Ashley said, "Daddy you forgot to ask Heavenly Father to forgive those people who were mean to you in the hospital." I thought it was a pretty sweet thing to say and it definitely made Derek and I think twice about what she said.

A Couple Recent Pictures

As many of you know, my girls and I have been taken turns being sick since Christmas. Every time I get the urge to take more pictures I look at the dark circles under my girls eyes or the dead expression on their face and decide I had better wait until later. Yesterday I finally got to take a few pictures of them. Even though neither one of them were very happy about having to sit still long enough for me to snap a few shots, I managed to get a few keepers. Hopefully we'll stop getting sick and I can start taking pictures a little more frequently.

Pillowcase Dress

So I mentioned how I've been on a sewing kick lately...well, this is another one of my projects. My friend Ashlee showed me a cute picture of this online and I decided I needed to make one. Who knew a pillowcase could be so cute? Now I'm on the hunt for cute pillowcases - let me know if you see any!

Easter Dresses

As you can tell, Ella was thrilled to be wearing her new easter dress and have her picture taken.

I have been on a bit of a sewing kick lately. The funny thing is I don't really know how to sew - I can barely get my machine threaded properly. Despite this, I decided that I was going to make my girls easter dresses this year. I was a little afraid I was going to completely ruin them since I have no idea how to read a pattern (yes even the very easy Simplicity ones), but I some how managed to do it. It probably took me about 10 times longer than the average person would take, but it worked out! I was so proud of myself for figuring out how to do this all on my own - it was a big moment for me!
